  1. Adam Saint says:

If only they'd stick a basic heatsink on that VRM – this would be enough for so many people. I think that's probably the point – if this is sufficient people aren't going to pay more…

  2. Deaft_shot says:

    thats my motherboard…..

edit:actually mine only has 1 pcie i think and the pcie isent silver
mine has no m.2 but its similer so is the box

edit:checked the box mine is the H310M PRO-VDH

  3. RiceFlavoredGum says:

I had a prebuilt with a Ryzen 5 3600 and A320 cheapo mobo. VRMs reached 120C when editing videos. Eventually smoke came out.
Oh, and it was an MSI "pro" motherboard. But it looked way cheaper than yours

  4. Nathan Gamble says:

"it seems like they're using doublers"
No it doesn't. There are 4 power phases, and there are 2 high-side MOSFETs, 2 low side MOSFETs, and 1 choke per power phase. You would never get doublers on a board this cheap, and the layout doesn't look like anything you would ever use doublers, and if it's a 6-phase PWM controller you don't need doublers to get 4 phases to the CPU. There are not "8 sets of power phases" for CPU power, there are 4.

  5. Péter Palotás says:

And thats why I'm sticking to aircooling. no matter how shity the VRM is, 4 fans + cpu fan moves enught air to cool it to safe temeratures.

  6. Daniels Ķēniņš says:

you should of DIY'ed a VRM heatsink, and why the hell are there VRM heatsink mounting holes but no actuall heatsint what the helll??!?!

  7. DammitCarl108 says:

So THAT mobo from MSi has an RGB 5v header, but the B450 Tomahawk Max doesn't? Pretty weird lol, I had to use the included RGB controller for my fans because of that

  8. the vindictive says:

I have the exact same motherboard and built a very decent gaming cpu at a fraction of the cost compared to pre-builts. Plus anyone with a right frame of mind would not put an I9 in such a MB. The max i would put is something with a 65w tdp (i7) and not an i9 with a 165w (i think) tdp. Thats just stupid. Plus the money i save on the MB can be put on the 12th Gen MB upgrade, when its comes out. Also in my country the Z series is 3 times the price of the H series. Thats an additional US100 which can be used for better GPUs or more memory. The only think i hate about intel at this time is being unable to use faster memory on lower end mother boards, but overall i saved close to USD 200 by going with a cheap MB plus i5 CPU just to match R5 3600.

  9. travis rose says:

If using a blowdown style CPU air cooler it would help solve the vrm issue as If you can't overclock might as well go air cool warm air is still better than no air to cool the vrm

  10. Trickzy says:

Who tf cares if a 5600x has slightly higher frame rates in a game at least i can do other things other than using 100% of my cpu only good zen 3 cpu it has is the 5950x
